SBC HEAD OFFICE
Test Scenario and Test Case Development: Translate approved business requirements into atomic,
traceable test scenarios and test cases covering positive, negative, boundary and data-flow conditions.
Ensure every requirement carries at least one executable test case written in Given/When/Then form, with
defined preconditions, test data, and a single expected result. Give particular attention to boundary
conditions on derived fields — days past due, delinquency bucket, account status and end net receivables
— where a definitional variance is not detectable by inspection and will otherwise pass unnoticed into
production.
UAT Coordination and Execution: Coordinate and execute UAT cycles. Prepare test environments and
test data in advance of each cycle, schedule and facilitate testing sessions, guide business testers through
execution, and capture results with supporting evidence. Track daily execution progress against the agreed
test plan and escalate slippage to the Retail Risk Project Manager.
Data Reconciliation and Parallel Run Support: Support parallel-run reconciliation between the legacy
platform and the target platform, comparing report outputs measure by measure across consecutive
monthly cycles. Investigate variances to root cause, distinguishing genuine system defects from differences
in business rule interpretation. Prepare reconciliation summaries identifying which measures tie, which do
not, and what remains unexplained.
Defect Management and Issue Tracking: Log, classify, and track defects raised during UAT through to
closure, assigning severity and business impact in consultation with the Retail Risk Project Manager.
Maintain the defect register, chase resolution with internal IT teams and the vendor, verify fixes on retest,
and prepare defect ageing and severity analyses for program governance forums.
Requirements Traceability and Test Coverage: Maintain the requirements traceability matrix linking each
business requirement to its acceptance criteria, test scenarios, test cases, execution results, and sign-off
evidence. Monitor coverage gaps and report requirements that remain untested or partially tested, so that
no requirement proceeds to sign-off without evidence. Flag coverage gaps on critical requirements to the
Retail Risk Project Manager ahead of each stage gate.
Interface and Downstream System Testing: Support testing of the interfaces between the new CMS and
the Loan Origination System, Collections system, Fraud Monitoring system, and Cloud Data Platform.
Validate that data elements crossing each interface arrive complete, correctly mapped, and within the required latency, and that values for the same account agree across all consuming systems on the same
business date.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present UAT status reports covering execution progress,
pass and fail rates, open defects by severity, and outstanding risks to sign-off. Maintain complete and
current testing documentation including test plans, test scripts, execution logs, evidence files, reconciliation
results, and sign-off records, in a form that will withstand internal audit and regulatory examination.
Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a coordination point between business testers, internal IT teams, and
the vendor's implementation and testing resources during test execution. Facilitate the timely resolution of
environment issues, test data requests, and clarification of expected results, escalating blockers to the
Retail Risk Project Manager where they threaten the test schedule.
Qualifications
Graduate with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT, Mathematics/Statistics, Business Administration/Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines.
Minimum of 3 years in software testing, quality assurance, business analysis, or data reconciliation, preferably within banking, payments, or financial services. Prior involvement in a core system migration, card management system implementation, or payment scheme migration is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
List essential knowledge and skills that will help the role holder effectively carry out the duties and responsibilities mentioned above, e.g. understanding of banking systems or products and services, analytical skills, etc.
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing structured test cases, with a working understanding of positive, negative, boundary, and regression testing approaches.
• Skilled in SQL, with the ability to query and reconcile data independently across source and target systems in order to validate results rather than rely on system output at face value.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data, isolate the root cause of a variance, and distinguish a system defect from a difference in business rule interpretation.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel for reconciliation, variance analysis, and test reporting, including lookup and pivot functions on large datasets.
• Proficient in test management and project tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, or equivalent, including defect logging, traceability, and execution reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the discipline to capture test evidence completely and consistently under schedule pressure.
• Excellent communicator, able to guide non-technical business testers through execution and to articulate defects clearly to technical teams and to the vendor.
• Working knowledge of card management systems, card lifecycle processes, or payment scheme operations is a distinct advantage.
• Familiarity with retail credit risk concepts — delinquency ageing, portfolio classification, provisioning, and collections treatment — is an advantage, given the nature of the reports and rules under test.
