Python Developer

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications following industry best practices.
  • Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including solution architects, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders, throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Deploy and maintain applications in AWS environments using established CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development best practices.
  • Implement API versioning, authentication, authorization, error handling, and security controls.
  • Optimize application performance and database queries.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.  (non-negotiable)
  • At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Python development. (non-negotiable)
  • Experience working in the banking, financial services, or fintech industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI. (non-negotiable)
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, API versioning, and exception/error handling. (non-negotiable)
  • Hands-on experience with: 
    • Docker (non-negotiable)
    • Docker Compose (multi-container environments) (non-negotiable)
  • Experience working in enterprise software development environments, including:
    • AWS (non-negotiable)
    • CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy)  (non-negotiable)
    • Coding standards and secure development practices  (non-negotiable)
    • Version control using Bitbucket  (non-negotiable)
    • Code review processes
  • Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases:
    • PostgreSQL
    • MongoDB
  • Experience implementing API security using:  (non-negotiable)
    • JWT
    • OAuth2
  • Good understanding of secure coding principles and application security best practices.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise systems and third-party APIs is an advantage.
