Job SummaryTech support engineers provide IT solutions while maintaining an organization's computer systems; this may require installing software, hardware, and network systems. These professionals must ensure the integrity of their network systems by monitoring performance and security and reporting any issues
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Install and configure computer applicationsMonitor and maintain computer networksConfigure operating systemsResolve issues related to the network Prioritize and manage the workflowDiagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using customer inputDesign computer systems that meet specific requirements.Keep track of system issues and adhere to the agreed timeline until an issue is resolved.Maintain procedural documents and reports.Follow standard procedures to resolve issues by connecting them to relevant internal departments.Ensure proper documentation of all issues.Prepare prompt, accurate reports. Document technical knowledge in the knowledge database.Train people on how to use different systems.Monitor daily performance of technical systems. Help companies deploy new software or hardware systems.
Qualifications
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often required or preferred.Proficiency in installing and configuring computer applications, operating systems, and network systems.Ability to design computer systems that meet specific requirements.Experience in monitoring and maintaining computer networks.Ability to resolve network-related issues and ensure network performance and security.Skilled in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues using customer input.Capability to follow standard procedures to resolve issues and connect them to relevant internal departments.Ability to maintain procedural documents and reports.Ensure proper documentation of all issues and prepare prompt, accurate reports.Document technical knowledge in the knowledge database.Strong verbal and written communication skills to report issues and prepare reports accurately.
